Batdorj BULGAN is a PhD candidate at the Institute for Resources, Environment, and Sustainability at the University of British Columbia. She holds a Master’s degree from the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering at UBC. Her research focuses on mining governance, the resource curse, transparency in the mining sector, and the application of artificial intelligence. In addition to her academic role and research experience she has consulted on social impact assessment projects, and serves as Vice Chair of the Canadian mirror committee for the ISO standard on sustainable raw materials. She also volunteers on the Board of the Council for Sustainable Development and Social Responsibility in Mongolia. She lives in Vancouver with her husband and two daughters.
